About the Opportunity
Join our Child and Family Health Nursing team in Griffith and make a meaningful impact on the health and wellbeing of children aged 0–5 and their families. In this community-focused role, you will support families through a strengths-based, wellness-focused approach that builds parental confidence and capability. By providing information, resources, guidance, and role modelling safe and responsive care, you will help families achieve positive health outcomes.
Using evidence-based screening tools and comprehensive assessments, you will identify health variations or vulnerabilities and work collaboratively with families to develop tailored care plans, and interventions that meet their individual needs.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), meeting all NMBA Registered Nurse standards for practice, and complying with relevant standards, codes, guidelines and frameworks.
- Post Graduate qualifications in Child and Family Health, along with Authorised Nurse Immuniser status and Family Partnership Training. (Candidates may be working towards these qualifications or complete them within 12 months of commencement. But must with enrolled with evidence.)
- Strong capability in continuous quality improvement, including comprehensive assessment skills, care planning, delivery of safe and responsive nursing practice, and evaluation of outcomes to guide ongoing care.
- Competence and knowledge in caring for individuals and families, with an understanding of the complexities and challenges relevant to the specialty area.
- Well-developed therapeutic and professional relationship skills, including effective communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a rural health environment.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to provide leadership, embrace change, and act as a positive change agent in the coordination and delivery of care.
- Commitment to professional development, actively maintaining and expanding knowledge, skills, and professional qualities through research and evidence-based practice, in line with contemporary nursing standards.
- A Class C Driver Licence and the willingness to travel for work purposes, including potentially long distances across the MLHD.

Additional Information
Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. Cessnock District Hospital is a Level 3 rural facility providing a broad range of healthcare services to the local community. The Emergency Department manages approximately 22,000 presentations annually and is supported by a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, including GP Visiting Medical Officers, nursing staff, allied health professionals, radiographers and support services. Our inpatient units provide general medical and surgical care appropriate to a Level 3 rural hospital, with a strong focus on delivering safe, high-quality and patient-centred care.

What You Will Be Doing
As the After Hours Nurse Manager Level 2, you will play a critical leadership role in overseeing the operational management of the hospital after hours and during periods when the Health Service Manager is unavailable.
In this role, you will:
- Provide leadership, coordination and support across the facility after hours.
- Oversee patient flow and bed management to ensure safe and efficient service delivery.
- Coordinate staffing resources and respond to operational issues as they arise.
- Support clinical teams in delivering high-quality patient care.
- Manage escalation processes and facilitate timely decision-making.
- Collaborate with medical, nursing, allied health and support services staff.
- Respond to clinical and operational incidents and support effective resolution.
- Promote patient safety, quality care and compliance with NSW Health policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance, support and leadership to staff across the facility.
This role requires strong clinical leadership, sound judgement and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment.
About You

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.

What you'll be doing
The Clinical Nurse Educator will be guided by the Nurse Manager in providing clinical teaching, skill accreditation and professional development support for all nursing staff and students within Hornsby Ku-ring-gai hospital. You will ensure staff across the service are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive. you will be part of a skilled multidisciplinary team managing complex, varied, and high-acuity presentations. The Clinical Nurse Educator will be guided by the Nurse Manager in providing clinical teaching, skill accreditation and professional development support for all nursing staff and students within Hornsby Ku-ring-gai hospital's Intensive Care Unit.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will be guided by the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant in leading, developing, co-ordinated and implementing all structured learning for nurses within NSLHD.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will provide clinical teaching, orientation, skill accreditation and professional development support for all nursing staff and students.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will have a role in the provision of hospital orientation and mandatory training. They will also be expected to teach in courses appropriate to nursing within and at facilities external to NSLHD.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will participate in the development and teaching of the NSLHD Nursing Professional Development Program (this includes travelling to other sites within the LHD for lecturing and facilitation of workshops).

Applicants will provide care to an annual caseload of 32 women per year.
Applicants must be prepared to work within a team of MGP Midwives, under flexible work hours and as part of an on call roster.
Applicants will work closely alongside the Midwifery Antenatal and Postnatal Service (MAPS) and Continuity Base Team (CBT) allowing the three teams to achieve a ‘whole of service’ integration of Midwifery Continuity of Care at PMBH.
About You
You are a Registered Midwife with current Authority to Practice through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and demonstrate a high level of clinical competence across the full continuum of maternity care. Your skills and experience encompass antenatal, labour, birth and postnatal care, as well as lactation support and infant feeding, delivered in accordance with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council National Competency Standards for the Midwife (2018).
You are committed to the provision of women-centred care and have a genuine passion for Midwifery Continuity of Care, recognising the value of building therapeutic relationships and supporting women and their families throughout their maternity journey. Your practice reflects a strong commitment to evidence-based care, advocacy, and the delivery of safe, compassionate and culturally appropriate services.
You possess excellent time management and organisational skills, enabling you to effectively manage a diverse workload within a dynamic midwifery group practice model. You are flexible and able to work across varying hours to meet the needs of women, families and the service.
Your well-developed communication and interpersonal skills allow you to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams while fostering positive relationships with women, families and colleagues. The Family Care Midwifery Team provides continuity of antenatal and postnatal care to pregnant people living with psychosocial vulnerabilities. The role:

As one of our new Registered Midwives, you will rotate through our entire service to get real exposure of the different aspects of midwifery including birthing suites, postnatal and antenatal care. You will get to undertake the entire scope of practice for a midwife, enjoying the ability to upskill in all facets of midwifery.
You won’t be working alone. You will be provided support by the senior Midwives, the Midwifery Unit Manager (MUM) and Clinical Midwifery Educator (CME). The Children’s Short Stay Unit (CSSU) provides care for up to 32 paediatric patients in an inpatient environment. The unit has 28 isolation rooms and 2 double rooms. Patients admitted to CSSU will usually have a length of stay of up to 72hrs before discharge home or transfer to a long stay ward. Patients are admitted under a medical model of care and are predominantly transferred directly from the Emergency Department for inpatient care.
The patient cohort largely consists of respiratory presentations such as bronchiolitis, asthma, pneumonia & COVID, as well as common childhood illnesses such as fever, poor feeding, UTIs, gastroenteritis, meningitis and seizures. With such a widely varied caseload, CSSU can offer vast opportunities to advance your skills in Paediatric Nursing.
We have a fantastic team of dynamic and passionate nurses, including Clinical Nurse Education support 12 hrs/day Mon – Fri & Nurse Practitioners 12hrs/day 7 days a week.
A minimum of 1 year post graduate RN experience is required. Paediatric experience not required, although a genuine paediatric interest is!

What you'll bring
We are looking for Registered Nurses who can demonstrate:
Demonstrated Critical Care or ICU nursing experience
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and the ability to recognise and respond to cardiac changes
- Strong clinical knowledge, critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills, with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to patient care.
- The ability to recognise and respond to changes in a patient's clinical condition and emergency situations.
- The ability to apply evidence-based practice and use clinical judgement to support safe, high-quality care.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills when working with patients, families, carers and the broader multidisciplinary team.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing clinical demands within a complex and fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining contemporary clinical practice.
ICU training, critical care and Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT), or a strong willingness to develop this skill experience is highly desirable.

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
