The Clinical Specialist Grade 2 Eye Clinic plays a vital role in providing information and support, while coordinating the care of patients throughout their treatment journey. This role also involves monitoring patient progress, facilitating effective communication among the multidisciplinary team, and ensuring that patients have a clear understanding of their treatment options and care plans. We are seeking a passionate and motivated Registered Nurse to join the team at Prince of Wales Hospital as a Clinical Specialist Grade 2 Eye Clinic, committed to delivering high-quality, person-centered care and supporting individuals throughout their treatment experience.

Where you'll be working
Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 in SESLHD you will provide individualised, case managed complex patient/ client care and leadership for Pre Operative Ophthalmology patients to maximise the health outcomes for the patient.
As a Clinical Nurse/ Midwife Specialist Grade 2 in SESLHD you will be recognised as a healthcare professional employing your clinical skills and critical thinking in delivering high quality patient care. You will exercise extended autonomy of decision making and professional knowledge and judgement in providing complex care requiring advanced clinical skills.
As a Clinical Nurse/ Midwife Specialist Grade 2 you will provide specialist clinical practice across a small service.
You will be an integral part of the interdisciplinary team in the provision of person-centred care; and lead, support and supervise other nurses/ midwives and care roles. You will strive to ensure that the people who receive healthcare experience exceptional care that is person-centred, safe, high quality and compassionate.
You will be part of a team that strives to support each other to reach our potential, focus on what matters most and continue to be innovative in approaches to practice.
As the Clinical Nurse Grade 2 in Pre-operative Patient care you will be encouraged to share your clinical expertise and further develop your practice with the professional development opportunities available. Some of the key functions of your role will be:
- Timely retrieval & preparation of patient health information from Health Information Unit, Specialist Doctors and others as appropriate
- Assessment of patients’ physical, social & Ophthalmic fitness for surgery
- Multidisciplinary communication with appropriate stakeholders eg Booking Offices, Anaesthetic Pre Admission Clinic & Anaesthetists, Ophthalmologists etc to ensure the safest patient care standard
Selection Criteria
- Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
- Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 12 Months experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical care and service delivery issues and problem solve through the development and use of clinical management plans.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy of decision making while working as part of a multidisciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
- Demonstrated skills in the development and facilitation of patient and carer education; and ability to mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance professional development.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and initiating activities to improve clinical service delivery and patient clinical outcomes.
- Demonstrated competence in the use of health-related information technology.

Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 means:a registered nurse appointed as such to a position approved by the Health Service, who has at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field. In addition the employee must have approved post graduate nursing qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed to or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the Health Service. An employer may also require a higher qualification in the specialist nursing field where such qualification is considered essential for the performance of the individual position.

Some of the key functions of the Registered Nurse/ Midwife is to:
- The Registered Nurse – Prostate Brachytherapy Research provides clinical and research support to the prostate brachytherapy service at the St George Hospital Cancer Care Centre. The role is responsible for coordinating the collection of clinical and treatment-related information from patients undergoing prostate brachytherapy, including demographic, treatment and toxicity data obtained during initial consultation and follow-up visits.
- The position supports the development and maintenance of a prostate brachytherapy clinical database by ensuring accurate, timely and complete data capture in accordance with approved research protocols, governance requirements and local policies.
- Working within a multidisciplinary team that includes radiation oncologists, urologists, medical physicists and nursing staff, the role facilitates high-quality clinical data collection to support clinical research, service evaluation and quality improvement initiatives within the prostate brachytherapy program.
- The Registered Nurse – Prostate Brachytherapy Research conducts patient interactions in outpatient clinic settings, administers validated questionnaires, performs toxicity grading where appropriate, and ensures clinical information is accurately recorded and entered into the prostate brachytherapy REDCap database.

The Role
As a Registered Nurse in our Recovery Unit at Prince of Wales Hospital, the role involves delivering high-quality, person-centred care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Standards of Practice. The Role
As a Clinical Nurse Educator in SESLHD you will deliver and evaluate clinical education programs to Intensive Care Unit within Prince of Wales Hospital

The Role
The CNE provides coordination, delivery and evaluation of clinical nurse education (including programs) at the ward/unit level. SESLHD’s Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Services (SHBBV) provides leadership, innovation and research in the sector. Services within SHBBV are involved in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of Sexually Transmissible Infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses at an individual and population level within SESLHD, as well as four statewide services.
Across these services, care is provided via fixed locations and outreach networks to a client base of approximately 28,000 individuals. SHBBV has highly skilled and diverse staff including nursing, medical, allied health, health promotion, administrative and technical staff. It is the largest SHBBV service in Australia.
The Albion Centre is one of three facilities within the Sexual Health clinical services which also includes Sydney Sexual Health Centre and Short Street. These services provide free testing, treatment and management to people effected be HIV, sexually transmitted infections, viral hepatitis as well as Transgender and gender diverse care.
A key focus of the position is to provide a range of specialist services including HIV management, sexual health assessment, screening and treatment, pre and post exposure prophylaxis, vaccination, health promotion, and care to Transgender and gender diverse clients. The role is primarily based at the Albion Centre.
The role will work in collaboration with local interdisciplinary teams to ensure a streamlined approach to client centred delivery of care across the three Sexual Health facilities. Cross facility support and travel may be required where necessary.

The Role

The ideal candidate will have:
- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Relevant Post graduate qualifications in midwifery or other relevant area e.g. education and/or at least 3 years recent experience working in the acute midwifery clinical area.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical care and service delivery issues and problem solve through the development and use of clinical management plans.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy of decision making while working as part of a multidisciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
- Demonstrated skills in the development & facilitation of women and carer education and midwifery staff as required.

Selection Criteria

As the Paediatric Haemodialysis Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) you will deliver and evaluate clinical education programs at Kidney Care Centre within Prince of Wales Hospital.
Some of the key functions of your role will be:
- Lead, coordinate, implement and evaluate evidence-based education programs that support the delivery of safe, high-quality paediatric kidney care across the Prince of Wales Hospital Kidney Care Centre and collaborating health services.
- Provide expert clinical leadership in paediatric haemodialysis, continuous kidney replacement therapies (CKRT), home dialysis therapies and specialised renal nursing practice.
As a CNE in SESLHD you will be recognised as a healthcare professional employing your clinical skills and critical thinking in delivering high quality patient care. You will exercise extended autonomy of decision making and professional knowledge and judgement in providing complex care requiring advanced clinical skills.

Selection Criteria

- Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent, or willingness to obtain within 12 months of commencement in role.
- Demonstrated extensive and recent clinical experience in paediatric nephrology and paediatric haemodialysis, including management of acute and chronic dialysis patients.
- Sound understanding of teaching, learning and assessment in the health care environment (adult learning principles) and demonstrated ability to apply same in the paediatric haemodialysis and advanced renal therapy setting.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer skills and use of software programs to develop and deliver education.

Inpatient D&A services are provided at Sydney Hospital, Prince of Wales, St. George and Sutherland Hospitals. The Registered Nurse position is responsible for the delivery of safe and compassionate person-centred care in collaboration with client, families, carers and the multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.

Selection Criteria

What you'll be doing
This position works within a high quality Midwifery Continuity of Care Maternity Service at Port Macquarie Base Hospital (PMBH) in the Caseload Midwifery Group Practice (MGP).
Applicants will provide care to an annual caseload of 32 women per year.
Applicants must be prepared to work within a team of MGP Midwives, under flexible work hours and as part of an on call roster.
Applicants will work closely alongside the Midwifery Antenatal and Postnatal Service (MAPS) and Continuity Base Team (CBT) allowing the three teams to achieve a ‘whole of service’ integration of Midwifery Continuity of Care at PMBH.
About You
You are a Registered Midwife with current Authority to Practice through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and demonstrate a high level of clinical competence across the full continuum of maternity care. Your skills and experience encompass antenatal, labour, birth and postnatal care, as well as lactation support and infant feeding, delivered in accordance with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council National Competency Standards for the Midwife (2018).
You are committed to the provision of women-centred care and have a genuine passion for Midwifery Continuity of Care, recognising the value of building therapeutic relationships and supporting women and their families throughout their maternity journey. Your practice reflects a strong commitment to evidence-based care, advocacy, and the delivery of safe, compassionate and culturally appropriate services.
You possess excellent time management and organisational skills, enabling you to effectively manage a diverse workload within a dynamic midwifery group practice model. You are flexible and able to work across varying hours to meet the needs of women, families and the service.
Your well-developed communication and interpersonal skills allow you to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams while fostering positive relationships with women, families and colleagues.
