The Far West Local Health District is one of 15 LHDs under NSW Health, providing high quality public health services to the communities in far west NSW. About Broken Hill
A true “Oasis in the Outback”, Broken Hill is a thriving regional town in far west NSW full of diversity, history and character. Being Australia’s first city to be Nationally Heritage Listed, Broken Hill is a culturally rich town with a vibrant art scene with over 20 galleries! The unique attractions, festivals and beautiful natural landscapes see tourists flock from all over, but the ones who stay quickly fall in love with the place and its liveability.

How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:
- Current nursing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with demonstrated experience in Operating Room/Critical Care Nursing.
- Demonstrated understanding of ACORN standards and NSW Ministry of Health policies related to Operating Theatre.
- Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualised person centred care patient care.
- Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated sound knowledge of infection control principles and WHS requirements.
- Demonstrated competence, confidence and accountability in the safe delivery of patient care in the operating room in the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait, Islander patients and families and employees to enhance health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.

What you will bring to the role
- Registered Nurse Division 1 registered with AHPRA
- Nursing experience in acute care setting, preferably within gastroenterology and/or hepatology specialties (including completion of a new graduate RN program or 12 months full time equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse)
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform venepuncture and laboratory specimen collection or willingness to learn
- Experience in developing and submitting ethics (NEAF) and governance (SSA) applications or willingness to learn and experience in managing clinical trials
- Current drivers licence
- Demonstrated computer literacy including accurate data entry skills

The Team
The Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) provides important health and wellbeing services to families across Tasmania with children aged 0 to 5. The service promotes the healthy development and wellbeing of children, providing growth and developmental assessments, health-focused early intervention, referrals and connections with other early childhood providers.
The CHaPS Residential Parenting Unit (lilinga) supports early intervention and support to families to navigate the adjustments and broad range of challenges that can arise during early parenting, equipping them with the confidence, knowledge and tools needed to support family wellbeing.
lilinga means Tasmanian Myrtle Beech (Nothofagus cunninghamii) in palawa kani, the language of Tasmanian Aborigines.
The Role
Registered Nurses within lilinga work alongside Registered Midwives and Enrolled Nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care that supports the careplan, and promotes the wellbeing and confidence of families admitted to the unit.

You will need
- Experience and/or knowledge of the principles of primary healthcare and delivery of holistic care that supports family efficacy.
- Experience, qualifications and/or knowledge (or ability to gain same) in the area of early parenting support, child development, and family mental health and wellbeing.
- Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, and in partnership with families, to meet health outcomes.

Details of appointment
Multiple permanent positions available, full time and part time, shift worker (fully rotational) positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date.

Salary
$80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse to join Bulahdelah Community Health Service and become part of a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering care to the local community.
Working within a small and collaborative team, you’ll be connected with a diverse range of health services including Palliative Care, Nurse Led Clinic, Wound Management and Child and Family Health, as well as a range of visiting and outreach services. You’ll be supported by the Nurse Unit Manager, with specialist guidance from the Wound Management Specialist and Clinical Nurse Educator for relevant clinical tasks and competencies. The Palliative Care team and Clinical Nurse Consultant will also provide support as required. Education and training opportunities will be encouraged and supported where relevant to the core business of the Community Nursing Team, helping you continue to develop your clinical skills and confidence.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Community Registered Nurse, you’ll provide high-quality, person-centred care to patients requiring wound management and palliative care across both clinic and home settings.
You will:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in their homes and in the community health clinic.
- Assess, manage and monitor a diverse range of wounds.
- Apply your knowledge of wound physiology and the wound healing process to clinical practice.
- Provide compassionate, person-centred palliative care to patients and their families.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans in partnership with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
- Coordinate and prioritise your caseload to ensure safe, timely and effective care.
- Work closely with the Palliative Care team, Wound Management Specialist and other health professionals.
- Provide education and support to patients and families to promote independence, comfort and quality of life.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate effectively with relevant healthcare providers.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment and ongoing improvement in community nursing practice.

The Role
As a Registered Nurse in our Recovery Unit at Prince of Wales Hospital, the role involves delivering high-quality, person-centred care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Standards of Practice. The nurse is responsible for coordinating and implementing nursing care, including comprehensive assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, to support patients in achieving optimal health outcomes.
This includes maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, communicating effectively with patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team, and delegating and supervising care provided by Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing within their scope of practice. Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit.
