An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced paediatric oncology nurse to join the Monash Children's Cancer and Haematology Centre as a Clinical Nurse Consultant, one of Victoria's most respected and comprehensive paediatric cancer services. Working part-time Monday to Friday, this advanced practice role sits at the heart of the care continuum, serving as the primary point of contact for children and adolescents with cancer, their families, and the multidisciplinary teams that support them across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
About You
You are a highly skilled paediatric oncology nurse with extensive acute care experience and the clinical expertise to guide families and teams through the complexity of a childhood cancer diagnosis with confidence and compassion. You bring advanced knowledge of chemotherapy protocols, clinical trials, and holistic cancer care, and you are equally adept at coordinating intricate treatment pathways as you are sitting with a family at one of the most difficult moments of their lives. You are a recognised resource and role model who is committed to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and the ongoing development of your colleagues and your specialty.
- Extensive paediatric oncology experience in an acute care setting, with demonstrated expertise in chemotherapy administration, anti-cancer drug competency accreditation, and knowledge of chemotherapy protocols and clinical trial requirements
- Advanced care coordination and clinical consultation skills, including experience as a primary point of contact for complex oncology patients across the full care continuum from diagnosis through to survivorship
- Postgraduate qualifications in paediatric or oncology nursing (Graduate Certificate, Diploma, or Master's level), combined with active membership of relevant professional bodies such as CNSA, ANZCHOG, or SIOP
- Strong multidisciplinary collaboration and leadership capability, with experience contributing to MDT meetings, developing clinical guidelines, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and partnering across tertiary and community services

The Role
The Neonatal Division Nursing Co-Director (along with the Medical Co-Director) is jointly responsible and accountable for achieving the day to day operational management of the Neonatal Division. These will be achieved in accordance with the policies of NSW Health, SESLHD, RHW, and other relevant legislative and statutory bodies.
The Co-Directors will provide vision and leadership in the Division and will foster excellence in the delivery of clinical services, corporate responsibilities, and in teaching and research.
The Co-Directors will together direct the day to day clinical and corporate activities of the Division consistent with Hospital objectives through a structure that facilitates participatory management with department heads and senior managers, decentralisation of decision-making, and teamwork in the provision of clinical services.
The Co-Directors will be required to represent and promote the hospital through participation on committees and professional bodies as required.
This role represents a collaborative partnership with the Medical Clinical Co-Director. Whilst the Neonatal Division Medical and Nursing Clinical Co-Directors have different time commitments to the co-directorship, both Co-Directors are jointly accountable for forming a partnership to plan, co-ordinate and deliver the clinical services of the Division.
The Co-Directors will be responsible for key activities in the following functional areas:
- Clinical / healthcare practice
- Quality, safety and clinical effectiveness
- Service planning, leadership & management
- Human resource management
- Financial management
- Research, training and educational development

- Current Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)

- Sound knowledge of contemporary clinical practice, critical care / neonatal intensive care models of care, with demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire staff to achieve service and professional goals.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills with proven mediation, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Experience in financial management, including cost centre management and staffing profiles and the ability to develop financial strategies and achieve goals.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effective change management strategy, identify stakeholders and engage all in process to achieve desired outcome.
- Demonstrated experience in and commitment to quality improvement and risk management.

About the Role
You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. The role involves coordinating and managing a randomised controlled trial of oral misoprostol for cervical ripening. Responsibilities will include participant screening, recruitment and follow-up; coordination of trial activities; liaison with investigators, the Human Research Ethics Committee and research governance; maintenance of trial documentation; and oversight of data collection, quality and entry. The successful applicant will also have opportunities to contribute to the analysis, interpretation and dissemination of study findings, including co-authorship of publications arising from the trial.

Ideal Candidate

About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for Registered Nurses looking to develop a career in perioperative nursing through a structured 12-month Transition to Practice Program.
As part of the program, you will rotate across the perioperative services at Maitland Hospital and Kurri Kurri Hospital, gaining exposure to a broad range of surgical specialties, clinical environments and perioperative practices. You will be supported throughout the program by experienced Clinical Nurse Educators and perioperative clinicians, with a structured education program, hands-on clinical learning and dedicated support to help you build your knowledge, skills and confidence.
Maitland Hospital
Maitland provides a busy and diverse perioperative environment, with three dedicated learning streams: Scrub/Scout, Anaesthetics/Recovery and Pre-Admission Clinic/Day Stay/Recovery.
You will gain experience across a range of specialties including general surgery, urology, paediatrics and anoscopy, while developing your skills across the full range of perioperative nursing responsibilities.
Kurri Kurri Hospital
Kurri Kurri provides a supportive perioperative environment with exposure to ophthalmology, ENT and minor specialty surgery, allowing you to broaden your clinical experience and develop confidence across different procedures and patient groups.
What You Will Be Doing
Throughout the program, you will work alongside experienced perioperative nurses with a dedicated mentor while developing your clinical knowledge and skills across different areas of the theatre environment.
You will:
- Participate in structured rotations across perioperative services.
- Develop skills in Scrub/Scout, Anaesthetics, Recovery. Day Procedure Unit and Pre-Admission Clinic
- Provide safe, evidence-based and patient-centred perioperative care.
- Develop knowledge across a variety of surgical specialties.
- Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, nursing staff and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Develop your understanding of infection prevention and control, sterile technique and perioperative safety.
- Participate in education, competency assessments and professional development activities.
- Build your confidence in clinical decision-making and prioritisation.
- Contribute to a positive team culture and high standards of patient care.
You will receive ongoing feedback and support throughout the program, helping you progressively develop your clinical capabilities and work towards a rewarding career in perioperative nursing.
About You

Our five-bed Close Observation Unit provides a supportive and collaborative environment. - Emergency Department
Our Emergency Department provides care to patients across all ages and a wide range of presentations, from minor injuries and illnesses through to complex and critically unwell patients. You'll have the opportunity to develop skills across triage, assessment, resuscitation, acute and critical care, wound management and the management of deteriorating patients, while building your clinical judgement and prioritisation skills within a supportive rural team.
- General Medical Unit
Our 32-bed General Medical Unit cares for a diverse range of medical patients with varying levels of acuity and complexity. As a Registered Nurse within our Rehabilitation and GEM unit, Ward D, you will play a crucial role in the care and support of our aged and rehabilitation patients. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care to our patients. At Casey Hospital, Ward D is a 27 bed Rehabilitation and Geriatric Medicine Ward, with a reputation for delivering outstanding patient centred care.
We are located on the ground floor at Casey Hospital. We work closely as a multidisciplinary team which includes allied health and medical teams to support patients to return home, go into aged care or supported disability accommodation. Common patient admissions include but not limited to:
- Stroke
- Fractures post falls
- Functional decline
- Reconditioning post CA diagnosis / treatment
- Rehabilitation post-surgery e.g. craniotomy, hip and knee replacements, abdominal resections, amputations
- Delirium
- Rehabilitation post procedures: Tracheostomy/ Laryngectomy
You’ll also have the unique opportunity to work towards undertaking Team Leader shifts. If you have an interest in leadership, you’ll be given the opportunity to supervise other members of the team and to develop your leadership skills in a structured and supportive environment with pathways and education available to make your Leadership goals a reality.

Our ICU Transition to Speciality Practice (TSP) Program offers Registered Nurses a supported entry into critical care, delivering structured learning, hands-on experience and a clear pathway toward postgraduate studies in Critical Care Nursing.
About the ICU's
Our Intensive Care Units are at the forefront of critical care, catering to a diverse range of patients and medical specializations.
- Monash Medical Centre, Clayton – Adult ICU
A 27 bed tertiary referral unit specialising in Neurosurgery, Neurology, Obstetrics, General Medicine and Surgery, with over 1,900 admissions annually. - Dandenong Hospital – ICU
A 14 bed unit caring for patients across Colorectal, General Surgery, ENT, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Vascular and General Medicine specialties. - Casey Hospital – ICU
A 12 bed Medical/Surgical unit specialising in Urology, Obstetrics and post operative care. - Victorian Heart Hospital – Intensive Cardiac Care Unit
A newly built, state-of-the-art 16-bed unit delivering advanced cardiothoracic care, including a nurse led ECMO service for complex cardiac patients.
About the Role
The ICU TSP Program is a structured, supported transition designed for Registered Nurses with acute care experience who are ready to develop their skills in intensive care.
These part-time (0.84 EFT), fixed-term (6 months) positions commence in February 2027 and are designed to prepare participants for further postgraduate study in critical care.
The program includes:
- Supported clinical shifts within the ICU
- Tutorials and structured learning
- Clinical milestones and assessments
- Ongoing support from dedicated ICU Clinical Educators
As a Registered Nurse in the ICU TSP Program, you will:
- Deliver high quality, evidence based care to critically ill patients

About the Department / Program
Monash Imaging at Clayton incorporates Monash Medical Centre (MMC); Monash Children’s Hospital (MCH); and the Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH); these Monash sites provide more than 200,000 imaging examinations per year. About the role:
We're excited to offer an outstanding opportunity to join our team as a Nurse Manager in our Specialist Clinic team at Dandenong Hospital. This is a full-time, fixed-term parental leave cover position (until October 2027) which allows you to make a meaningful impact while advancing your career in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the NM will provide clinical leadership and operational management of the Specialist Clinics and will be responsible for delivering safe, quality clinical patient care standards and ensuring that patients receive exceptional care.
The role is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the clinics ensuring timely patient access to care, the effective utilisation of financial resources and fostering of a safe working environment for staff.

- Successful leadership of continuous improvement initiatives as they relate to National Standards
- Computer technical competency working with electronic patient/medical records
- Ability to support the team with changes and training when required
