- Do you have current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)? Please attach a copy of your AHPRA registration in your application
- Postnatal wards can be fast-paced and unpredictable. How do you prioritize care and maintain effective communication with patients and the multidisciplinary team during busy periods?
What strategies do you use to identify and respond to early signs of maternal or neonatal complications? Please provide an example from your clinical experience.

What you'll be doing
The Registered Nurse provides safe, compassionate, person-centred care to patients and families of Sydney Children’s Hospital Network.
The Registered Nurse acts as a role model by demonstrating behaviour and interacting with patients, their families and employees in a way that promotes a culture and standards that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness , Respect and Empowerment.

The Role
We’re currently looking for a qualified Registered Nurse currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and at least one full year of nursing experience.
The Registered Nurse performs reception screening and comprehensive health assessments on persons received into custody whilst assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing management.
Our Location
The Metropolitan Remand and Reception Centre (MRRC) is a maximum-security correctional facility for male offenders and is one of 3 correctional facilities within the Silverwater Correctional Complex in Sydney. Inmates who arrive at the MRRC:
- Come directly from court on remand
- Stay at the MRRC while they attend court in the Sydney Metropolitan Area (before returning to their home correctional centre)
- Stay at the MRRC while they await a vacancy at a centre matching their classification.
Most offenders leave the centre within a few months of their arrival, usually because they obtain bail (and release) or transfer centre

Manning Maternity Services offers comprehensive, woman-centred care to mothers and babies from 34 weeks of gestation, focusing on those with low to moderate risk factors, as well as post-caesarean section care.

What You Will Be Doing
As a Perioperative Registered Nurse, you will provide safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care across the surgical journey, with a strong focus on Anaesthetic and Scrub/Scout nursing.
Anaesthetic Nursing
You will:
- Prepare the operating theatre and equipment for anaesthetic procedures.
- Assist the anaesthetist with the safe delivery of anaesthesia.
- Undertake comprehensive patient assessment and monitoring throughout the anaesthetic phase.
- Maintain patient safety and respond promptly to changes in the patient's condition.
- Ensure appropriate preparation, checking and availability of anaesthetic equipment and resources.

Previous Anaesthetic nursing experience is essential.
Scrub/Scout Nursing
You will:

- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team throughout procedures.

About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an Emergency Nurse Practitioner or Transitional Nurse Practitioner to join the Emergency Department at Cessnock Hospital. You’ll work alongside two experienced and endorsed Nurse Practitioners who have helped shape and develop the role over the past few years. You’ll also be supported by a roster of GP Visiting Medical Officers with diverse specialty skills, together with a highly skilled and collaborative team of nurses, radiographers and support staff. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a high degree of autonomy while knowing you have an experienced team around you when you need it. Cessnock is located just an hour west of Newcastle and the coast. Set in the heart of the Hunter Valley, the area is known for its vineyards, eclectic shops and strong connections to the region’s mining and energy industries, offering a great balance of country lifestyle and modern convenience. Our Level 3 District Hospital Emergency Department has six treatment spaces and manages approximately 22,000 presentations each year, averaging around 50 presentations per day. While the majority of presentations are lower acuity, the department still provides variety and clinical challenge, including occasional acute and complex presentations requiring stabilisation and transfer.
What You Will Be Doing
As an Emergency Nurse Practitioner / Transitional Nurse Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in the assessment, diagnosis and management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
You will:
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and determine appropriate management.
- Request and interpret diagnostic investigations and imaging within your scope of practice.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment and management plans.
- Provide clinical leadership, advice and support to nursing and medical colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with GPVMOs and the broader multidisciplinary team.
- Support effective patient flow and contribute to efficient ED workflow.
- Provide safe, high-quality, person-centred emergency care.
- Contribute to a positive culture of clinical learning, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Shifts are generally 0800–1800, seven days a week, with some flexibility as required.
How You’ll Be Supported
You’ll work closely with the two experienced Nurse Practitioners currently based within the service, providing an established clinical support network as you develop within the role. Your orientation will include time to become familiar with local systems, protocols, processes and workflows.
Ongoing professional development is actively encouraged, with access to:

- Emergency Stream education sessions, including the EMET program.

About the Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and patient-focused Registered Nurse to join the Hunter Joint Centre at New Maitland Hospital. This modern unit is located within a state-of-the-art hospital, offering contemporary facilities and advanced health system infrastructure that supports safe, high-quality care and professional practice.
The Hunter Joint Centre is a specialised orthopaedic unit consisting of 12 funded beds, with additional beds utilised to support surge capacity. The unit is staffed by a diverse, inclusive, and highly experienced nursing team with strong backgrounds in both medical and surgical nursing. You will be supported by a skilled team of senior clinicians, including Orthopaedic Specialists, a Clinical Nurse Consultant, Clinical Nurse Educator, and Allied Health professionals, all working collaboratively to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
You will be joining a dynamic multidisciplinary team that includes Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing, and a large allied health workforce. The unit is recognised for delivering excellence in the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) model of care for joint replacement patients. This evidence-based model focuses on optimising recovery through pre-operative education, standardised analgesia, and early mobilisation, enabling reduced length of stay without compromising patient safety or quality of care.
This position reports to the NUM 5A and offers a comprehensive hospital and ward-based orientation program. All new starters are well supported to develop competence and confidence in managing patients under the ERAS protocol, with ongoing access to clinical guidance, education, and professional development opportunities.

About You
You will be a motivated and adaptable Registered Nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Experience in orthopaedics, medical, or surgical nursing is desirable, but not essential, as support and education will be provided.

About the Opportunity
Join the dedicated perioperative team at Kurri Kurri District Hospital, a valued part of the Lower Hunter community proudly serving Kurri Kurri, Abermain, Weston and Heddon Greta.
We are looking for a Registered Nurse with Anaesthetic and/or Recovery experience to join our close-knit theatre team. This is an excellent opportunity to use your existing perioperative skills while continuing to develop your expertise across the anaesthetic and recovery phases of the patient journey. Our hospital provides a broad range of medical, specialist surgical, rehabilitation, emergency and allied health services, giving you exposure to a diverse range of clinical presentations and procedures. This is a Monday to Friday role, offering excellent work-life balance within a supportive and collaborative perioperative environment. From day one, you’ll be supported through a structured buddy program, guidance from the Nurse Unit Manager and access to ongoing professional development, including study days and education opportunities.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Perioperative Registered Nurse, you will provide safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care throughout the anaesthetic and recovery journey.
You will:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures.
- Undertake anaesthetic nursing responsibilities, including preparation and support of patients throughout the perioperative process.
- Provide safe and effective post-anaesthetic recovery care, including monitoring patients and recognising and responding to changes in their clinical condition.
- Complete comprehensive patient assessments and accurately document clinical care.
- Work collaboratively with anaesthetists, surgeons, nurses and the broader multidisciplinary team.
- Promote patient safety through effective communication, clinical judgement and adherence to evidence-based practice.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient and well-organised perioperative environment.
- Participate in quality improvement, education and professional development activities.
- Support a positive team culture through collaboration, respect and shared learning.
You will report directly to the Nurse Unit Manager and work alongside an experienced perioperative team committed to delivering safe, high-quality patient care.
About You
We’re looking for a motivated and clinically confident Registered Nurse who has experience in Anaesthetic and/or Recovery nursing and is passionate about delivering high-quality perioperative care.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Have recent experience in nursing within a perioperative environment.
- Demonstrate sound clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Be confident recognising and responding to changes in a patient's condition.
- Have a strong understanding of perioperative patient safety and infection prevention and control.
- Communicate effectively with anaesthetists, surgeons, nursing staff and the broader multidisciplinary team.
- Be adaptable, proactive and willing to contribute across the perioperative service.
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability and a commitment to ongoing learning.
- Contribute positively to a respectful, supportive and collaborative workplace culture.
Experience in Anaesthetic or Recovery would be highly regarded.
Essential Requirements
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Recent clinical experience within a perioperative environment.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety and continuous quality improvement.
- Ability to participate in the department roster, including on-call requirements where applicable.
