Nursing Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency is essential
Clinical nursing practice experience in an aged care facility preferred (Minimum 2years experience essential).
Flexibility and availability to work multiple shifts.

Position details
The Role
Undertake nurse-led clinics for common paediatric and neurodevelopmental conditions in the setting of social challenges in collaboration with paediatricians, trainees and allied health staff. Deliver education programs for parents, carers and support staff to support management of common childhood difficulties.
Support statewide policy development, service planning, implementation of evidence-based practice and innovation to improve access, equity and outcomes for children, young people and families across Tasmania.
You will need
- Highly developed, evidence-based clinical knowledge and advanced practice skills in the psychosocial determinants of health, developmental paediatrics, including knowledge of developmental trauma, Out of Home Care, and the needs of vulnerable children and families, with the ability to coordinate complex care across multidisciplinary and multi-agency settings.
- Proven ability to lead quality improvement initiatives, utilise data for decision-making, and contribute to research translation to enhance clinical outcomes and service delivery.
- Demonstrated capacity to provide clinical leadership, influence practice standards, and drive statewide improvements in models of care, including the ability to design, deliver, and evaluate education programs and build capability within nursing and multidisciplinary teams.

Details of appointment
Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 3 months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance withNurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

The Team
Community Forensic Mental Health is seeking expressions of interest from employees interested in working as a Court Liaison Officer across the Burnie and Devonport Magistrates courts.
This is an excellent opportunity to undertake work within the Forensic Mental Health Service to deliver specialist mental health assessment and consultation to Magistrates, Solicitors, Police, and Community Corrections staff.
The successful applicant can either be based out of the CFMHS Launceston office or Devonport however travel will be required to attend court in Burnie and Devonport in person as required.
The Role
- Provide specialist clinical mental health assessment to those persons identified within the Justice system as having or who may have a mental health problem.
- Provide high-level written reports to the Courts.
- Liaise with other government and non-government agencies to formulate appropriate interventions that are acceptable to the Court and the client.
- Ensure referral and relevant information is relayed promptly to Agencies involved with ongoing care of people with mental health problems involved with the criminal justice system.
You will need
- Demonstrated specialist knowledge and understanding of mental health disorders and the needs of individuals experiencing psychological and emotional problems.
- Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience working in a forensic setting or ability to acquire the same and obtain certification as a Mental Health Officer under the Mental Health Act and other current statutory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to organise and manage workload, set priorities and work without close supervision as a member of the multidisciplinary team.

Fixed term full time, day worker, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until April 2027.

Eligibility

- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, a hospital based training program that resulted in previous registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse registration authority within Australia, New Zealand or the United Kingdom
