Riverlands 10-Bed Inpatient Withdrawal Unit is seeking motivated registered nurses to join our supportive and experienced team.
About the role
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality person-centred nursing care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Standards for Practice for Registered Nurses, and the Policies and Procedures of the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD). Nursing care is provided utilising the principles of Trauma Informed Care and Recovery for people with Alcohol or Other Drug (AOD) issues.
A nursing role in the alcohol and other drugs sector offers mentally stimulating work and provides a high level of autonomy and empowerment.You’ll work within a collaborative team that enables a culture of support.
Your contribution as a healthcare professional will have a meaningful and positive impact, which is felt at a community level.

The vision for nursing and midwifery at The Sutherland Hospital is to: Build a united team that provides compassionate care to our community through transformational, supportive and holistic nursing and midwifery.
We are offering permanent roles with the opportunity to work in a variety of general and speciality medical clinical areas. The TSH Nurse Bank offers you the opportunity for extended rotations in exciting clinical areas, professional development and clinical support.
Nurse Bank Registered Nurses are allocated to backfill temporary vacancies for example, maternity leave relief and long service leave. Specialities include:

·Neurology
·Cardiology
·Respiratory
·Oncology
Positions in the nurse bank are either Full-time or Part-time with a minimum of 2 days per week. To be eligible for a position, you must have current Australian work rights, have completed a Transition to Professional Practice Program and have the ability to participate in a seven day rotating roster.
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality nursing care to patients/clients of The Sutherland Hospital & Community Health Service, consistent with SESLHD and The Sutherland Hospital & Community Health Services CORE values, policies, procedures and standards.

Selection Criteria:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.

What You Will Be Doing

- Provide catheter care and management.
- Administer medications, including IV medications within your scope of practice.

As a Casual Registered Nurse within our Dialysis and Infusion Services, you'll work across a diverse and rewarding clinical environment. Our Dialysis Unit is a six-chair service operating six days per week (Monday to Saturday), while our four-chair Infusion Unit provides treatment services on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Depending on your previous experience and service requirements, there may also be opportunities to work across other areas of the hospital, providing valuable exposure to a broad range of clinical settings.
At Muswellbrook Hospital, you'll be supported to build your confidence and specialist knowledge from day one. Dialysis orientation includes two weeks of dedicated training at either Maitland or John Hunter Hospital Dialysis Units alongside the Dialysis Educator, followed by supported shifts and orientation within the Muswellbrook service. Ongoing support is provided by the Dialysis Clinical Nurse Educator, Muswellbrook Clinical Nurse Educator team and Clinical Nurse Manager. For nurses working within the Infusion Unit, orientation includes two weeks at Tamworth Oncology Unit with the District Cancer Services Educator, followed by local orientation and ongoing support from our Oncology Educator. Additional support is available through the Cancer Care Coordinator, Muswellbrook Clinical Nurse Manager and the broader Cancer Services team. As a rural facility, Muswellbrook Hospital also benefits from access to medical officer support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ensuring a collaborative and well-supported clinical environment.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based and person-centred care to patients receiving haemodialysis and infusion therapies while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and be able to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
- Current computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.

- Proven clinical skills across maternity services, including Birth Suite and Pregnancy Clinic.
- Level 3 FSEP Practitioner accreditation from a recognised Fetal Surveillance Education Program.
- A genuine passion for supporting women and families experiencing fetal abnormalities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

About the Role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides expert clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty through the delivery of specialist consultant service which:

- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience.
