Bear Cottage Children's Hospice is situated in MANLY. Bear Cottage cares for children with life limiting illnesses and their families providing respite, symptom management and end of life care in a home like environment. We are looking for an assistant in nursing to work alongside our Registered Nurses and Allied Health Team in providing holistic nursing care to the children we care for. Experience working in the disability sector or with children is desirable.
What you'll be doing
The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) role assists in the provision of basic nursing care, working within a plan of care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) within a team setting. AIN’s are not to be allocated their own patients. AIN’s are not to be assigned patients where one to one therapeutic nursing supervision is prescribed.
The AIN is responsible for assisting in the delivery of quality individualised care to patients at The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) within the guidelines set by the NSW Department of Health, the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Framework, The SCHN – Division of Nursing and within the limits of the AIN position description.
The AIN will:
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Demonstrate ethical behaviour in their performance
•Understand and respect patients’ rights.
• Provide evidence of completion of annual mandatory training.
• Practice within the NSW Health guidelines, the position description and guidelines for the SCHN and are required to adhere to Policies and Procedures.
• Adhere to the NSW Health Code of Conduct.

We are excited to offer this opportunity for passionate, caring, and committed midwifery students to join our team at Singleton Maternity! Our successful candidates will be working with women, families and midwives in a supportive role as an Assistant in Midwifery. On any given day, you will be providing postnatal care in the form of breastfeeding support, observations, and attending to postnatal care plans. This role offers clinical support which is available from the education, management and midwifery team. You will be working collaboratively within the team to support women and newborns and promote safety and quality in the workplace.
You won’t be working alone. The Maternity team at Singleton Hospital are a small but close-knit team with a famously positive culture that works well together with the GP Obstetricians to provide a high level of care to their patients. You will be supported by the team as well as other Maternity Unit Managers in hospitals throughout the region, as well as the Clinical Midwife Consultant (CMC) and the WHAM Network.

The Maternity Unit at Singleton Hospital provides Level 2 & Level 3 care to their patients and provide shared care with the GP Obstetricians. Due to the small size of the town, you will enjoy getting to know the women that you care for closely, in turn being able to provide the highest level of care to them

ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE:
This is a casual position within our Resource Allocation Unit, providing support to the intensive Care Unit at our Fitzroy campus.
Our ICU is a 12-bed tertiary-level facility delivering care to a diverse range of critically ill patients, including those requiring cardiothoracic, neurosurgical, specialist thoracic and orthopaedic surgery. We also receive external admissions from metropolitan and regional hospitals, as well as through Adult Retrieval Victoria. Working alongside the General Medicine Pharmacy Team Leader and broader multidisciplinary team, you’ll deliver expert clinical pharmacy services while contributing to education, quality improvement and the ongoing development of General Medicine pharmacy practice.
Key responsibilities include

About the Role
To provide excellent care of children and their families admitted under Paediatric General Medicine Unit at Monash Children’s Hospital Clayton and contribute to Unit activities as required.
Participation in the unit education program encouraged.
Key result areas:
- Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care.
- Be available to medical colleagues for consultation and liaison as appropriate regarding patient care.
- Participation in the weekend roster covering General Paediatric Units.

0.14 EFT (5 hours per week, 10 hours per fortnight).
There are 4 positions available. 2 positions aligned to Team A and 2 to Team B. The 5 hours per week are averaged over a 4 week rolling roster of 1 x 3h session 0900-1200 per week, 3 of which will be as inpatient support consultant and 1 of which will be a general paediatric outpatient clinic and one weekend of a 3h support consultant shift on Saturday and Sunday 0900 – 1200.
Educational opportunities include a regular Tuesday General Paediatrics Team Meeting at 12:30 – 13:30, weekly radiology meetings, Grand Round presentations, and resident/student teaching if desired.
About You
What you need:
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications (FRACP or equivalent)
- Working with Children's Certificate
- Recent/substantial experience in both General Paediatric and Neonatal management.
- Experience in HITH is desirable

About the Department
Monash Health Radiology is the largest public provider of imaging, therapeutic and interventional services within Australia with over 600 staff across the network. We provide Interventional Radiology (IR) and Interventional Neuroradiology (INR) services at 6 sites of the Monash Health network (Victorian Heart Hospital, Monash Medical Centre, Monash Children’s Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Moorabbin Hospital and Casey Hospital).
We perform more than 2000 body angiography procedures and 500 neuro angiography procedures as well as more than 4000 non-vascular image guided procedures per year. Including paediatric IR procedures.
The department also performs more than 18000 diagnostic vascular studies per year across US, CT and MRI and our Interventional Radiologists and Interventional Neuroradiologists also report a wide variety of non-vascular diagnostic studies.
The service has a large inpatient consult service across multiple hospitals, with strong collaboration with our colleagues in various medical and surgical specialities. We also have a growing outpatient service, with regular clinics for BodyIR, Venous Incompetence, and Vascular Anomalies.
About the Role
We are now looking to appoint an Interventional Radiology/Interventional Neuroradiology Unaccredited Junior Registrar. The Interventional Radiology/Interventional Neuroradiology Unaccredited Junior Registrar position will encompass clinical, educational and research responsibilities in an Interventional Radiology and Interventional Neuroradiology setting.

The Role
The Neonatal Division Nursing Co-Director (along with the Medical Co-Director) is jointly responsible and accountable for achieving the day to day operational management of the Neonatal Division. The Co-Directors will provide vision and leadership in the Division and will foster excellence in the delivery of clinical services, corporate responsibilities, and in teaching and research.
The Co-Directors will together direct the day to day clinical and corporate activities of the Division consistent with Hospital objectives through a structure that facilitates participatory management with department heads and senior managers, decentralisation of decision-making, and teamwork in the provision of clinical services.
The Co-Directors will be required to represent and promote the hospital through participation on committees and professional bodies as required.
This role represents a collaborative partnership with the Medical Clinical Co-Director. About the Role

Position details
The Role
Undertake nurse-led clinics for common paediatric and neurodevelopmental conditions in the setting of social challenges in collaboration with paediatricians, trainees and allied health staff. Deliver education programs for parents, carers and support staff to support management of common childhood difficulties.
Support statewide policy development, service planning, implementation of evidence-based practice and innovation to improve access, equity and outcomes for children, young people and families across Tasmania.
You will need
- Highly developed, evidence-based clinical knowledge and advanced practice skills in the psychosocial determinants of health, developmental paediatrics, including knowledge of developmental trauma, Out of Home Care, and the needs of vulnerable children and families, with the ability to coordinate complex care across multidisciplinary and multi-agency settings.
- Proven ability to lead quality improvement initiatives, utilise data for decision-making, and contribute to research translation to enhance clinical outcomes and service delivery.
- Demonstrated capacity to provide clinical leadership, influence practice standards, and drive statewide improvements in models of care, including the ability to design, deliver, and evaluate education programs and build capability within nursing and multidisciplinary teams.

Details of appointment
Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 3 months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance withNurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
