About the role

The Lachlan (Parkes & Forbes) Maternity Service was launched in 2021 and provides a full range of contemporary care models after considerable consultation with the community. The service’s goal to provide culturally appropriate and women-centred care and is at the forefront of maternity service delivery in regional Australia. Services include MAPP (Maternity Antenatal /Postnatal program), Midwifery Group Practice, Private Care and AMIHS (Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Health Service). The service births approximately 210 babies each year in brand new or newly refurbished birthing suites and facilities.

This is a senior level position most suited to an experienced clinical leader who wants to advance their career and lead positive change for rural health services. As a new service you will be pivotal in developing and shaping the service and being a positive and helpful leader for your team. Our midwives are highly skilled clinicians who deal with a broad range of pregnancy and birthing scenarios, brought about by the autonomous environment in which they work. This is truly a role where you will challenge yourself, make an impact and shape the future of rural maternity services.

You’ll also be part of a broader network of MUMs and CNCs from our District who are well connected and support each other professionally, birthing over 3200 babies each year. About the role

Working within the Midwifery Group Practice program, you will be providing continuity of care to women throughout their pregnancy, birth and postnatal period. Under the program, you will be allocated an agreed caseload of women per year from whom you, with support from your fellow midwives, will be providing 24 hour support.

In this role you'll work independently and manage your own workload and time and get to know the women you care for very well, providing a continuity of care and trust through their pregnancy and birth experience. You'll be responsible for the delivery of antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal midwifery care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of interventions to facilitate women achieving 'towards normal birth' strategies and optimal birthing goals.

Focussed on the woman's individual needs, expectations and aspirations, you'll work at an advanced nursing level to achieve quality care outcomes for patients and are well supported in a collaborative work environment. Your role will be well supported by a Clinical Midwife Specialist Team Leader, and you will enjoy a collaborative work environment with close support from our district’s Clinical Midwife Educator and Clinical Midwife Consultants.

Rural Health Workforce Incentives Scheme

You may qualify for a $20,000 sign-on bonus if you have moved (evidence required) from MM1-2 (metro) location, interstate or internationally to work in our district. If you do not meet this criteria, attraction incentives or allowances of up to $10,000 may apply.

Retention incentives of up to $10,000 after 12 months of service may apply.

Through innovative virtual care, the MHHUB supports timely assessment, clinical decision-making, and high-quality mental health care where it is needed most.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2), you will provide advanced mental health nursing care within a virtual service environment, supporting people experiencing complex mental health presentations. A Central NSW hospital requires Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine for the following date(s). Subacute Unit offers a range of services, including inpatient rehabilitation, palliative care and residential TACP, as well as a range of outpatient services including the Rural Spinal Cord Injury Service (RSCIS), and the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (BIRP).
