Join our dedicated team at Westmead Hospital as a caseload Midwife on a 12 month temporary contract with the potential for permanency.
This is a unique opportunity to provide continuity of care while working across diverse and rewarding models including Homebirth, Aboriginal Maternity Care and supporting vulnerable populations, upholding a outlook of cultural respect and improving outcomes for families in our community.

What you'll be doing
In this rewarding caseload midwifery role, you will provide evidence-based, woman-centred care across the full maternity journey, including community and homebirth settings.
Within this role you will:
Manage a caseload delivering antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care.
Provide on-call support for labour and birth in hospital or at home.
Deliver education, health promotion and support to women and families.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community services.
Support culturally safe, high-quality care and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Criteria
Qualification: Midwifery
Registration: Current and valid registration as a Registered Midwife ( Division 1) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
Selection Criteria
Current and valid registration as a Registered Midwife (Division 1) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Demonstrated experience and clinical skills as a Midwife.
Commitment to developing advanced clinical skills and maintaining ongoing mandatory training.
Available to work flexible hours with availability to be on call.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of continuity of career/primary health care models of Midwifery care in addition to an explicit understanding of strengths-based philosophy.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a member of the multidisciplinary team with demonstrated effective teamwork and communication skills and demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.
Current Driver's License valid in Australia and willing to use for work purposes.

About the Role
Sydney Local Health District’s Community Health Centres have a long and proud history of delivering care in the community including prevention, early intervention, assessment, treatment, health maintenance and continuing care services designed to improve and support the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.
The “Community Mental Health Team” (Core Team) is the mainstay of the community mental health system. Core Teams and provide a range of clinical services including intake, assessment, consultation, treatment ,and care coordination. Care coordination is the main component of this model of care and includes extended care coordination, targeted packages of care, and short term care coordination.
Consumers under the care of Core Teams will either have:
- Short term interventions and may be discharged or referred back to their GPs or other treatment providers after a period of weeks or months.
- A period of treatment as recommended by evidence based practices.
- Ongoing care and monitoring for prolonged periods.
The Mental Health Nursewill practice in keeping with the standardised Sydney LHD position description for the profession in addition to this position description.

As the Clinical Nurse Educator you will provide for the delivery of clinical nurse education, and perform the following:
- Deliver clinical education in ESMHS Community Mental Health
- Contribute to the development of colleagues.
- Provide orientation of new staff and students to ESMHS Community Mental Health

About the Role

Essential Requirements:
Registration: Currently authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Selection Criteria:
Recent experience in Intensive Care environment or relevant experiences in an acute/ COU inpatient area as deemed appropriate by WSLHD
Ability to work a rotating 7 day roster to meet clinical demands of busy quaternary Intensive Care Service
Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients
Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail
Evidence of computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems

The Role
Are you an registered nurse with Mental Health experience and a desire to help consumers in the Community? Join our casual pool with availability of block bookings in advance / 3 rostered days per week / consecutive days
You will have the opportunity to pick up available Monday - Friday shifts across our various teams providing you the flexibility of work/life balance or to supplement your main income. There may be opportunity to block book substantial periods of work to backfill period of staff's leave.
The CMH Clinician will provide comprehensive strengths based and recover focused assessments with consumers and the formulation of time limited packages of care signed off by consumers and their care givers. These packages will detail the clinical mental health services and other wraparound supports to be provided.

- Demonstrated experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated skills in time management.
- Computer literacy skills.
- Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel in accordance with the position.
