WSLHD - Provisional Fellow – Maternal Fetal Medicine (Un-Accredited)
Where you'll be working
Western Sydney Local Health District is responsible for the provision of health services to the local government area comprised of Auburn, Baulkham Hills, Blacktown, Holroyd, and Parramatta. These services are provided through a number of hospital and community-based facilities located strategically across the District.
Western Sydney Local Health District is committed to achieving continuous quality improvement in client services within a Quality Management framework, with a supporting Strategic Plan aimed at the continuous improvement of all facilities. The District has individual facilities located at Westmead, Cumberland, Auburn, Blacktown and Mount Druitt.
All hospitals provide a range of both in-patient and outpatient services to clients both from within the boundaries of the District and cross border flows. In addition to this, there are a number of facilitates strategically located across the District that provide primary health care services to the community.
The primary goal of Western Sydney Local Health District is: To improve the health of, and ensure comprehensive health care services for, our community.
Its principal purposes are:
- To provide relief to sick and injured persons through the provision of care and treatment.
- To promote, protect and maintain the health of the community.
What you'll be doing
WSLHD - Provisional Fellow – Maternal Fetal Medicine (Un-Accredited)
The primary purpose of the position is to provide high quality obstetric and maternal and fetal medicine care in addition to gynaecological care to patients in a tertiary maternal fetal medicine unit. The goal during the RANZCOG advanced training program is to develop professional maturity and increased expertise in high risk obstetrics, maternal fetal medicine, tertiary obstetrics and gynaecological ultrasound The Provisional Fellow will work under the supervision of senior staff as approved by the RANZCOG subspecialty committee in MFM.

The Training Program
Westmead Hospital is an accredited training hospital for RANZCOG and Maternal Fetal Medicine training.
The Training Network
Westmead Hospital and secondment Hospitals, including but not limited to Westmead Private Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital, San Private Hospital, Auburn Hospital, Blacktown Hospital and Westmead Childrens Hospital.
Training Opportunities
The training opportunities available in the position of Provisional Fellow (Maternal Fetal Medicine Unaccredited) include:
• Development of ultrasound skills with a specific focus on Maternal Fetal Medicine.
• Education via regular structured and unstructured teaching and education
• Access to support for research, audits and patient safety and quality improvement projects.
• Development of skills in management of both admitted and outpatients.
• Development of skills and knowledge specific to the treatment and care of women and families requiring specialist Maternal Fetal Medical care.
Orientation
Hospital Orientation occurs at the beginning of each term for all doctors new to the individual hospital.The department of O&G provides an orientation manual to all medical staff working in the department.
Hospital Orientation covers the following: hospital tour, RSU services (pay, timesheets etc.), medico-legal issues, occupational health and safety, pharmacy, patient flow, computer access and teaching schedule. In addition, orientation will be provided for infection control, medical emergency calling system, deteriorating patient and death and cremation certificates.
Supervision Arrangements
The Provisional Fellow (Maternal Fetal Medicine Unaccredited) is supervised by the training supervisors and the other consultants as indicated.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia
- Applicants with experience in tertiary obstetric ultrasound will be preferred
- Be able to deliver ultrasound services to pregnant women with senior supervision is expected
- Experience in teaching junior medical staff
- Interest in research, audit and quality assurance projects undertaken by the department .
- Current registration as a trainee with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (or eligible for) and intent to obtain Fellowship of the College

What you'll be doing
To provide a high standard of clinical care to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in the practise of General and Acute Care Medicine, in the context of fulfilling the requirement of the RACP for Advanced Training in General and Acute Care Medicine.
The Division of Medicine provides services primarily across the three main hospitals, the Wollongong, Shellharbour and Shoalhaven Hospitals. Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital. It is the region’s tertiary referral hospital which means it has the capacity to treat specialist and complex cases.
The rotations at Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District include: Core General Medicine (Acute) Wollongong Hospital, Core Sub-specialty rotations in Respiratory, Neurology, Gastroenterology; General Medicine (Acute) at Shellharbour Hospital, Core General Medicine (Acute) Shoalhaven Hospital. The position may be required to work within other facilities which are in an approved arrangement with your employer, including rural locations. These facilities may include other NSW public and private hospitals, and facilities in other States.

The Division of Medicine provides services primarily across the three main hospitals, the Wollongong, Shellharbour and Shoalhaven Hospitals. What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the Basic Physician Trainee (BPT) is to provide effective medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in medical practice in a complex clinical environment in inpatient and outpatient areas in the public health organisations within the Network.
Basic Physician Training roles consist of rotations through medical departments, working under an appropriate level of supervision by consultants. Rotations have different levels of responsibility and team structures. Both ED and ICU receive patients from rural sites retrieved by the local Westpac Helicopter Retrieval Service which has a base in Tamworth. Critical Care Unaccredited Trainees/ SRMOs can complete ACEM’s Emergency Medicine Certificate over the year. ED is accredited with RACGP and ACRRM for advanced skills in Emergency Medicine.

What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the SRMO in the Emergency Department is to provide clinical care, under appropriate supervision, to patients requiring emergency medical services in a complex clinical environment. Rotations to Anaesthetics and ICU are available with all rotations accredited by the relevant specialist College. The position is suitable for trainees of other specialties seeking critical care experience including RACGP and ACRRM trainees and supports the completion of the Emergency Medicine Certificate (EMC) and Emergency Medicine Diploma (EMD) through ACEM. It is also suitable for those who are not enrolled in a training program with regular protected education and professional development support provided to all SRMOs.
*Critical Care rotations will be offered to the top 4 successful applicants. All other successful applicants will be offered 12months of Emergency Medicine. An elist is created for any future rotational opportunities that may become available. Further information regarding these rotations will be provided to the applicant at the interview.

The Central Coast is part of the Emergency Medicine Network 2 Training Program for Advanced Trainees. Gosford & Wyong Emergency Departments are educationally networked for training with ACEM and offer a comprehensive education programme contributing to Primary exam preparation & Fellowship preparation. All trainees (including Unaccredited) have access to paid rostered non-clinical time. CCLHD Emergency Trainees have achieved excellent results in both Primary and Fellowship exams, with a very high pass rate and a number of medal winners for top mark. Both Gosford and Wyong Emergency Departments are ACEM accredited for 36 months training time (including stage 4).

What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the role is to provide effective clinical management of orthopaedic patients, under appropriate supervision, whilst developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment. The unaccredited trainee is the key person who works closely with all members of a multi-disciplinary team and deals with matters of an urgent or sensitive nature, whilst exercising discretion, sensitivity and maintaining confidentiality.
Decision making and supervision will be at the appropriate level according to the unaccredited trainee’s skills, knowledge and experience. They will be expected to adopt a progressively more independent approach to patient management according to their experience, under the guidance of and at the discretion of the appropriate Attending Medical Officer (AMO). All patients managed within the hospitals of the health service are under the direct care of a specialist medical practitioner. Join our team as a Grade 3 Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist (AMP)! We have a full time, parental leave cover position available, extending from 23/11/2026 until 24/11/2027.
Based mainly across Casey Hospital, Dandenong Hospital and Monash Medical Centre/Monash Children's Hospital, you will provide advanced assessment, clinical reasoning and management of adult and paediatric musculoskeletal presentations within the Emergency Department setting. Depending on your experience and operational requirements, opportunities may also extend to outpatient services across Dandenong, Casey and Moorabbin Hospitals.
Work collaboratively with senior medical and specialty teams, including those from the Emergency Department (ED) and specialty teams, such as Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Neurosurgery, to ensure the best care for Monash Health patients. What you will be doing:
This position is open to qualified Advanced trainees in Geriatrics to practice under the supervision and direction of Specialist Geriatricians to assess and medically manage a comprehensive range of illnesses and disorders related to aged care.
The SLHD Geriatric Medicine Advanced Training Network offers you a comprehensive and well established Geriatric Medicine Advanced Training Program, with experienced supervisors, a wide range of formal education programs, a track record and resources for the completion of substantive projects.
Our reputation is second to none with clinical rotations allocated according to your experience, interest and training needs. The final allocation would also take into account the service needs across the SLHD Geriatric Medicine network training sites.
There is opportunity for you to rotate through subspecialty training modules including orthogeriatrics, cognitive disorder clinics, surgical liaison service, psychogeriatrics, as well as a variety of community based Geriatric service initiatives.
The duration of the position is for one full year (twelve months), though many trainees would reapply in subsequent clinical years to continue their advanced training in the network to take full advantage of the training opportunities.
The SLHD Geriatric Medicine Training Network
All network rotation sites are part of the Sydney Local Health District. Sites for our Network rotations include: Concord Repatriation General Hospital, The Canterbury Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the Balmain Aged Care Departments. All positions will participate in rotations allocated across the training network. Each rotation is approximately of 3 months duration.
The SLHD Geriatric Medicine Training Network encompasses the Aged Care departments and facilities of the Sydney Local Health District, covering the Sydney and Inner West Local Government Areas of Ashfield, Burwood, Canterbury, Canada Bay, Leichhardt, Marrickville, Strathfield, and part of the City of Sydney.
This training network is accredited for three years of Geriatric Medicine Advanced Training by the RACP Geriatric Specialist Training Committee in recognition of the training opportunities available.
Where you will be working:
You will be based at one of the SLHD hospitals for each rotation. SLHD hospitals include Concord Repatriation General Hospital, The Canterbury Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. All positions will participate in rotations allocated across the training network. If allocated to a community term you will experience outpatient care, community home visits, Residential Aged Care Outreach.

The Medical Oncology Advanced Trainee will be in an accredited Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) training program within the Medical Oncology Department in a network of hospitals (Chris O`Brien Lifehouse, Concord hospital, Dubbo Base hospital). The Advanced Trainee will be assigned to the Medical Oncology Department for the specified term and will undertake specific tasks and responsibilities at that Hospital. The Advanced Trainee will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and supervise junior medical officers (JMOs) and medical students. The position of Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) offers a unique, highly sought-after mix of neonatal experience and paediatric acute, ambulatory, and outpatient experience. The SRMO will provide paediatric patient care in the following settings: ambulatory and outpatients, neonatal special care, and paediatric acute care. The SRMO will provide orientation, support and training of medical students. They will facilitate departmental meetings such as the Neonatal, Perinatal, and Paediatric Morbidity and Mortality meetings. About Our Role
The primary purpose of a Provisional Fellow in Anaesthesia is to provide advanced level anaesthetic practice in a complex clinical environment, whilst under supervision as part of the training of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA).
Provisional Fellows are expected to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skills, including:

This position offers an excellent program and pathway for senior trainees to transition into consultant practice. Special emphasis is placed on developing clinical autonomy, organisational skills and supervision of junior trainees. This position offers the opportunity to develop these skills in adult and paediatric anaesthesia (by mutual agreement).
Anaesthesia at Prince of Wales
Prince of Wales Anaesthesia provides anaesthesia services to Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH) and Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick (SCH). There are fourteen general operating theatres (adult and paediatric), a cardiac operating suite, and a two-theatre urology operating suite including lithotripsy.
There are multiple locations outside of theatres where anaesthesia support is provided to procedural and diagnostic work (e.g. radiology, cardiac catheter labs, endoscopy suite etc.). Anaesthesia is also very active in both teaching and research.
Anaesthesia has eleven Fellow positions: nine in a wide range of Anaesthesia Services distributed between POWH and SCH, one in Pain Medicine and one in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine (the latter two are advertised separately). In practice all Anaesthesia Fellows work across both POWH and SCH.
A wide range of options are available for the training of Provisional Fellows within the Department. The exact mix of duties is determined by negotiation. We tailor a year of high-quality clinical and non-clinical exposure to each individual. The general principles for a week of work are: two days of clinical work in an area of preferred interest for each provisional fellow, two days of further clinical work required by the Department, and a day for research and development, administration, teaching and quality assurance activities.

The successful applicants will gain valuable experience in our hospital in the beautiful Northern NSW LHD / Richmond Network, working under the guidance of highly experienced senior clinicians.
The Lismore Base Hospital (LBH) Intensive Care Department is a modern unit located in the North Tower of the redeveloped hospital we currently operate with nine-beds but have capacity to open to thirteen if required. Our ICU provides a variety of services including:
- Respiratory support including Ventilatory and non-ventilatory support
- Coronary care and cardiac monitoring
- Renal support
- Trauma, and
- General Intensive Care services.
Where you'll be working
Lismore Base Hospital (LBH) is the recognised Trauma Centre for the North Coast Region and is linked with the local helicopter retrieval service.
The hospital is an acute regional referral hospital of 280 beds on the Far North Coast of NSW, serving a population of approximately 170,000 people on the Far North Coast of NSW and has a busy Emergency Department (40,000 presentations annually), ICU and Coronary Care Unit, as well as Surgery (general, orthopaedic and speciality surgery), Paediatrics, Mental Health, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
LBH ED also supports Richmond Network hospitals including Ballina District Hospital (18,000 presentations per annum) and Casino Memorial District Hospital (14,000 presentations per annum), and Multipurpose Centres located at Kyogle, Nimbin, Urbenville and Bonalbo.

What you'll be doing
Critically ill patients include patients with life-threatening single and multiple organ system failure, those at risk of clinical deterioration as well as those requiring resuscitation and/or management in an intensive care unit. Trainees in unaccredited positions in the Intensive Care Department work under supervision, assisting to manage, diagnose and treat the disturbances associated with severe medical, surgical, obstetric and paediatric illness and the conditions that cause them. This may include management of deteriorating and seriously ill patients outside the intensive care unit as well as the intra-hospital transport of critically ill patients.
This position is appropriate for foundational ICU training, or for those rotating from other specialties e.g. emergency medicine, anaesthetics.

Where you'll be working
Wagga Wagga Base Hospital (WWBH) is one of the busiest rural hospitals in NSW and has
recently been transformed by a $431million redevelopment. It was delivered in three stages and completed in 2021. The health campus includes:
- a referral hospital called Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. Opened in 2017, it supports over 40,000 emergency presentations, 1,100 births and approximately 11,000 operations each year.
- a 24-hour Emergency Department equipped with telehealth cameras to connect the team in Wagga Wagga with other specialists or GPs across the state through the Critical Care Advisory Service, ensuring you get the care you need.
- a purpose-built Health Services Hub which opened in 2021. The new facility, linked to the Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, offers a range of important services from a single site. The multi-storey building accommodates acute aged care inpatient beds, rehabilitation inpatient beds, an older person's mental inpatient unit, Hospital in the Home, expanded renal dialysis unit, expanded oral (dental) service, 60 clinic rooms and treatment spaces for allied health, outpatient, and community health services. There is also a Staff Hub and 30 staff meeting rooms of varying sizes with an electronic booking system and the latest presentation technology; a new lecture theatre and two nearby conference rooms, new clinical education and training spaces, including a simulation room and skills area and facilities for virtual training; a library, a dedicated Aboriginal meeting room and cultural courtyard; cafe; new multi-faith space; and facilities for corporate volunteers. - a specialised Mental Health Unit, which opened in 2013, to provide a large modern and comfortable facility. Community mental health services are co-located on the campus in the new Health Services Hub.
Wagga Wagga Health Service provides services including critical care, medical, surgical, paediatric, obstetric, and rehabilitation care. We also provide mental health and community health services. We work with a team of specialists which include cardiovascular, gastroenterology, renal medicine, obstetrics, orthopaedics, psychiatry, and paediatrics. There is also the provision of a full range of allied health and support services such as oral health, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, sexual health and violence prevention and response services.

This position is appropriate for medical officers (at the commencement of the position PGY 4 and above) who are interested in training in intensive care medicine. The position is suitable for advanced trainees of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM). The clinical role allocated to the advanced trainee may vary depending on the experience and seniority of the advanced trainee and operational requirements of the ICU.
The purpose of the position is to provide effective clinical management and excellent care to critically ill patients under the direct or indirect supervision of an Intensive Care Specialist. Trainees will be expected to develop expertise in medical practice in a complex clinical environment, and to participate in the core training program of the College of Intensive Care Medicine.
Under the supervision of intensive care consultants, advanced trainees may lead a team of junior medical officers inside ICU and on outreach service. During night shifts advanced trainees may be the most senior ICU medical staff on-site.
Wagga Wagga ICU is a Level 2 Intensive Care unit that serves a large catchment area within Murrumbidgee local health district (MLHD). The unit treats over 700 patients each year with > 23% ventilated patients and has 12 physical beds. The unit offers exposure to a broad range of high acuity intensive care patients, supported by other specialties including cardiology with active 24 hours Cath lab, Renal with its own dialysis unit, Respiratory, Endocrine, Neurology, Haematology and Oncology, Interventional radiology, Upper GI, Vascular, Otho and Colorectal surgery. The department places an emphasis on innovation, diversity and a culture of inclusivity.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia

- Completion of three (3) years post graduate experience at commencement of position, with a minimum of one year work experience in an ICU. Completion of CICM primary exam or equivalent.

The primary purpose of the position is to provide quality obstetric and gynaecological care to patients in a complex clinical environment whilst developing higher professional maturity and professionalism during the RANZCOG Advanced Training Program, with the goal of obtaining FRANZCOG. Provisional Fellows will, under an appropriate level of supervision by senior staff as approved by the RANZCOG, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to female patients of all ages presenting in any condition or stage of pregnancy or the puerperium; and female patients presenting with illnesses, injuries and disorders of the gynaecological or genitourinary system.
The purpose of the position is to provide clinical support to the Department of Medical Imaging while working towards obtaining the DDU and/or COGU. This post is primarily in Diagnostic Ultrasound and is suitable for an Obstetrician or Radiologist who has recently obtained a Fellowship of the RANZCOG or RANZCR, or one who is in their last years of training.
The position represents an opportunity for involvement in a leading Department with an Obstetric, Prenatal, Neonatal and Gynaecological focus. It is expected that fellows with suitable training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology would participate in the after-hours roster. Conditions are on the basis of qualifications. This is not a postgraduate fellow position.
