An Metropolitan NSW hospital requires a Specialist in Internal Medicine from 01/08/2026 to 19/12/2026.

Detailed Job Description:
Meet with scheduled referred patients to learn about their medical
histories and symptoms and risk factors;
Conduct diagnostic tests to determine the cause and nature of cardiac
condition;
Interpret and report ordered non-invasive procedures onsite
(Echocardiograms, Stress tests/echocardiograms, ECGs, Holters and
ABP monitors) and from offsite (as needed);
Examine and interpret test results and explain them to patients;
Diagnose patient with the aid of diagnostic images and
electrocardiograph recordings;
Discuss with patients possible treatment methods;
Attend and supervise all Stress tests;
Prescribe medications as necessary;
Send detailed reports back to referring doctor on each consultation
and test within a timely manner (within 2 working days)
Perform offsite invasive procedures as required, such as coronary
angiography or angioplasty;
Coordinate medical staff for tests and procedures;
Recommend postoperative care, and educate patients about how to
lead healthier lives;
Keep updated patient records and document everything;
Obtain continuing education by attending conferences and reading
medical publications;
Familiarise with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in
cardiology practice;
Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals;
Report to the Medical Director.

Role Overview
The successful cardiologist will be responsible for:
• Consulting patients and preparing correspondence for referring practitioners.
• Reviewing and signing off Holter and Ambulatory Blood Pressure (ABP) monitoring reports.
• Reviewing and signing off Echocardiogram and Stress Echocardiogram reports.
